In the days leading up to your wedding there are wrong and right ways of storing your wedding dress. We therefore want to give you the right steps to follow when storing your wedding dress.
This is a part which should be handled by your tailor. Your dress ought to be neatly pressed, put on a hangar, and enclosed in a plastic bag. This plastic bag should then be enclosed in a fabric garment bag. You should call the tailor’s attention to it, if one of these is missing.
You may find hang straps annoying to use on your everyday clothes. However, when it comes to your wedding dress, you are going to need them. You should ensure that hang straps support the weight of your dress. This is preferable to delicate straps which may cause your dress to stretch or have an ugly form.
You should look for a spot in your home which is dark, cool and dry where you can keep your wedding dress. You should endure children or animals can’t access this location. This is in a way to avoid tears and stains on your wedding dress.
Once you have stored your wedding gown in a safe location, try not to remove it from the bag. This should only be done if there are alterations to be made. This is because there are high chances of staining your dress each time it is handled. Deodorant and makeup are best known for staining your dress when trying it on. So be sure to remove any deodorant or makeup before trying on your dress.
