There is an old country house about an hour from Barcelona that we have to talk about. A yellow house, like the sun, in the heart of the Costa Daurada. It’s just a few kilometres from Reus, another of many modernist jewels of Catalonia, and very close to the beach.
But those are not the only charms of this house. It has history, it’s an old house that combines the essence of the past with all the comforts that we are accustomed to in the present. But there’s more. The owners of
Mas Groc, who have grown up among violets and orange trees, have applied incredible taste and discretion to create a space that welcomes with open arms celebrations just like the one you’re planning.
Apart from the house, which is an architectural treasure that has belonged to the same family since 1532,
Mas Groc has three key surrounding areas, meaning everything you need is close at hand. The first space is called La Haima, having an Arab-Mediterranean influence, where you can shelter from the sun and relax, inhaling the perfume of daisies and orange blossoms, and dense forest full of wild pines and flowers – an exclusive area designed for the enjoyment and fun of little ones.
The next is a winter dining room that retains the original stone walls and, if that were not enough, you also have a swimming pool in which to escape the summer heat.
Mas Groc also offers accommodation possibilities and once you see them, you might even book rooms for a wedding celebration that extends over a couple of days. It wouldn’t surprise us!
