You could get some advice from your already married friends and relatives. They can give help you out or let you know what worked for them. Nonetheless, we’ve put together a top 6 list of things you should know when planning a large wedding.

1.     Set Your Budget

Firstly, you need to decide on a budget before you start planning for your wedding. You need to have an idea of what you’ll spend before meeting with venues and vendors. This is important because you can easily spend more than what you are comfortable with if you start without setting a budget. Remember, you can have a beautiful wedding if you set your budget accordingly.

2.     Choosing a Wedding Venue

After setting your budget, this should come at the top of your list. This is a huge factor when planning your wedding. And to do so, there are important question you need to ask yourself;

  • Can you afford the venue?
  • How many people can it hold?
  • Is it easily accessible?
  • Is the venue weather permitting?

Once you’ve answered all of these questions, you are good to go! However, this depends on what you and your partner desire.

3.     Create a List of Priorities

It’s important for you to create a list of your top priorities. You and your partner need to decide on the most vital aspects of your wedding. This ranges from having a large guest list to the food, decorations, and entertainment. Try and get estimates of everything on your priorities list so you can plan better.

4.     Setting the Date

When planning a large wedding, it’s important to set a date that would suit you, your family, and guests. Most often, it is difficult to plan a wedding to fit between holidays and tight schedules or other commitments. While setting a date for your wedding, bear in mind that planning for a wedding will be more expensive during certain periods for some of your guests. So, when setting a date, it’s worth taking this into consideration.

5.     Plan Ahead of Time

As nature has it, procrastination leads to failure. If you are planning to get married in 2021, you may be thinking that you have enough time ahead. But, before you know it, boom! Your wedding is here. So, it is absolutely never too early to start planning your wedding.

6.   Have A Second Plan of Action

It is your big day and that doesn’t mean that you are exempted from unforeseen circumstances. We are not wishing you bad luck but remember the universe works in mysterious ways. So, there is absolutely nothing wrong with planning for any bad happening. Plan for a problem with the catering or for bad weather. If you have a plan B, it will enable you to keep planning with no stress.

If you want your wedding to be a success, do not plan it all by yourself. Seek for everyone’s ideas and share responsibilities. It is important to make wedding decisions together.
